A BUSY Monmouthshire road will be closed for three weeks whilst resurfacing work takes place.
A stretch of the Blaenavon Road which runs between Govilon and Blaenavon
Monmouthshire council will carry out work to resurface Blaenavon Road (B4246) in Govilon, from its junction with Merthyr Road, continuing up t he Blorenge Mountain towards Blaenavon and finishing at the former Cordell Inn.
The road will be closed between 9.30am and 3.30pm on weekdays only from Wednesday August 31 and is due to end on September 19.
Monmouthshire council’s highways team say the work will improve the surface of the road and prolong its working life.
Letters have been sent to affected residents apologising for minor disruption and some noises from machinery and said that access will be maintained for residents and emergency services.
There is no official diversion but motorists can use the Heads of the Valleys A465 instead.
