September might mark the start of Autumn but Monmouthshire usually has a fantastic collection of shows and festivals to make the month shine.
Traditionally, September has a packed calendar of weekends with something happening most weekends.
This year of course has been a little different and the events we all love to go out enjoy are not there.
Here are just some of the events missing this year.
Wye Valley Food Festival
A new kid on the block that only started in 2018 at the Chepstow Racecourse. The second summer event was scheduled for this summer but circumstances changed everything. This mix of food, music and the Wye Valley vibe are looking towards next summer for the next event.
Usk Show
The magnificent Usk show has been held on the Usk showground On the second Saturday in September, every year since 1844. Showcasing the best of Monmouthshire farming and rural life, the one day show brings a magnificent 30,000+ visitors to the 100 acre showground.
The Usk Show is fabulous showcase for local businesses as well as the farming community.
The Abergavenny Food Festival
The godfather of Food Festivals is the jewel in the crown of the food and Monmouthshire calendars. Welcoming Foodies from across the UK and beyond, the Festival goes from strength to strength very year. Not to be completely beaten this year, the Abergavenny Food Festival became Virtual and held a series of online events.
Lets hope that this time in 2021,we will once again be celebrating these shows and festivals.
