ONE of Wales' most famous gastropubs is up for sale after almost two decades in business.
The award-winning Hardwick restaurant in Abergavenny closed its doors for the last time on October 1 last year, having been successfully-run by former Michelin-starred chef, Stephen Terry, who helped put Monmouthshire on the culinary map of the UK.
The TV chef, who trained under the likes of Marco Pierre White and has appeared on multiple series of BBC's Great British Menu, opened the much-loved restaurant with his wife in 2005 when they took on the pub that was previously known as The Horse and Jockey on the Old Raglan Road.
It won numerous awards, including being named Gastropub of the Year, and was named as the seventh-best gastropub in the UK in 2019.
The restaurant, together with eight en-suite rooms, three-bedroom owners accommodation, kitchen and car park with 32 parking spaces, is on the market with the Herefordshire-based pub, hotel and restaurant specialists, Sidney Phillips Limited for £825,000.
